The Ins and Outs of the Dog Food Landscape

If you love dogs, then you’ve come to the right place.  I’m so excited about today’s guest.  With us is Chelsea Kent who co- founded Hero's Pets in Littleton, CO in 2007. She is a regulatory specialist, attends all AAFCO (American Association of Feed Control Officials) meetings and consults for multiple non-profits, manufacturers, retailers and consumers. She also authors educational articles on a variety of veterinary and social platforms.

We cover the Cost of Various Types of Foods and Convenience of Various Types of Foods.

Is it true that in a lot of cases you actually need to feed less of high quality food vs the amount you’d need to feed of a highly processed food?

Chelsea, you are obviously VERY knowledgeable when it comes to canine nutrition, why did you get into the industry?

What advice would you give to people who feed their dog the same food every single day?

In your opinion, do you think that we will have better regulations in the pet food industry anytime in the near future?

The Wag Out Loud pawdcast is supported by listeners like you! I started the show as a passion project that would help all of us make well-informed decisions for our dogs’ health and well-being. After many amazing guests, intriguing topics and incredible feedback, I realized the WOL pawdcast is exactly what I wanted to do. I am mission-driven and work hard to produce the best possible show I can, and I trust that if you find value in my work and have the means, you will choose to contribute. It would not be possible to consistently produce a quality show without the listener support that I receive. Thanks to all of the dog lovers out there!
